VA101:
VISUAL Assurance - The Basics (2 Days)
Prerequisite: None.
Our most popular
course, these two days serve as an introduction to the purpose and historical
background of VA and its role in delivering control, compliance and
risk management solutions. The course surveys the basic structure and
functionality of VA and couples this fundamental knowledge with hands-on
experiences with the structure of VA and its deployment. The content
includes knowledgebase and assessment structures, completing assessments
and the associated participant roles along with some fundamentals of
system administration and some exposure to knowledgebase authoring and
assessment reporting and graphing, including the analysis tool. A brief
review of the resources available on the www.kilclare.com website is
included.
The course is intended
as a primer for motivated self-study or as a prerequisite to advanced-level
VA Curriculum courses. This course is suitable for participants seeking
general knowledge v. participants requiring assessments specifically
tailored to their individual organization. Company specific customized
training sessions can be designed upon request. This course is suitable
for participants currently evaluating VA.
VA103:
Authors Advanced Training (1 Day)
Prerequisite: VA101
or Instructor Waiver
This course expands
the perspective of authoring attained in VA101 to include all the nuances
and components involved in that function. It focuses the student to
consider the final end product of the assessment activity by envisioning
the use for the data being collected and its path back out. The course
begins by reviewing the authoring process (e.g. Kb framing and finishing)
and explores various assessment contexts. The use of text boxes for
guidance or reference is reviewed; the features of the text editor,
spell checker, and editing functions are reviewed; the use of additional
components in the context of the analysis tool is explored in addition
to setting consideration importance values and developing strategies
for the Kb information file. The use of template checklists and the
auditor checklist are also reviewed.
The course is designed
as a combination of lecture and hands-on exercises. The issue of authoring
in groups is addressed using the Kb templates, export and import functions.
VA104:

on the introduction to the administrative functions explored in
VA101.

with each. VA Security: Users, User Groups and Access Rights are also
reviewed along with entity setup and maintenance. System, knowledgebase
& assessment management and archiving are reviewed along with strategies
for the System Information File. Deployments using multiple currencies
